The purpose of this layer is to define the area encompassed by the Greater Rochester International Airport in Monroe County, New York. This layer is one of many aviation layers used by the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES) for maintenance, as well as, other mapping needs.

This layer was created by Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES) in 2008. Clough Harbor and Associates created a Master Plan which included an airport layout plan drawing, which Monroe County DES used to digitize into GIS format. This layer is continually updated and modified as needed. The airport area is adjusted/modified as adjustments/modifications are made to the Greater Rochester International Airport. Both spatial and attribute updates are made to this data.

This layer was created by Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES) in 2008. Clough Harbor and Associates created a Master Plan which included an airport layout plan drawing, which Monroe County DES used to digitize into ArcInfo format. The data is currently stored and maintained in an ArcSDE geodatabase.
Currently, the data is maintained and updated by digitizing features based on airport layout plan drawings. Standard ArcGIS editing functionality is used to maintain this data. Topology is also used to check and correct the geometry of features.
